Why you should NOT wait until the new year to start working out

The Holidays are here and next thing you know the year will be over and everyone will be sharing their awesome new year's resolutions. I love how ambitious everyone gets about getting their health in check during this time, but so many people fall off before they even really get started. Rather than wait until January 1st to find your motivation, you should get started NOW! Why? I'm glad you asked!
Gyms become crowded at the start of the year as everyone else with health goals decides to start also. If you are on your day 1, trying to figure out the layout of your gym, attempting to try new equipment, and not quite sure which type of exercise works best for you and your goals, it can be overwhelming. Start now, get in a routine, and when the gym is crowded with newbies you'll know what you need to do and be able to navigate your way to get your workout done quick.
Research suggests it takes 21 days to create a new habit. Take this next month to establish your routine. Learn if you're a morning person or night person when it comes to working out. Figure out the best day for you to grocery shop and meal prep. Learn which healthy snacks you like. Plan out how much time you have each day to dedicate to your workout. If you start now, you'll be on track by the time January comes and already dedicated to a plan.
Lastly, what's the point of waiting another day being unhappy with your health/fitness? The sooner you start, the sooner you reach your goals. Exercise affects your life in amazing ways. You increase your strength and cardiovascular stamina, gain energy, boot metabolism, decrease stress and anxiety and most importantly you gain self confidence from a combination of all of these outcomes. Don't put off your happiness any longer. Take that first step and either get back into the swing of things or if you're new to fitness, find the right person to help you. Sometimes all you need is some guidance and a little kick in the gluteus maximus to find your way on the path to a Better Body.
